Women’s Bible Study on Genesis Begins September 22

Join a study of Genesis for women, Wednesday mornings 9 - 11 AM in room 120. A breakout into smaller discussion groups allows time for processing ideas and sharing insights. It’s an atmosphere where new friendships begin. Don’t be shy - plan to attend and bring a friend. Study guides will be available in Café Connection for $6.50.

Café Connection Needs Friendly Volunteers

2 people to work our “clean-up” shift from 10:30 - 11:30 AM the 2nd Sunday of each month. One person who can come in on Monday mornings to clean and re-stock Café Connection, and one person who can come in on Fridays to clean and stock Café Connection for the weekend. We Are Celebrating Our New Nursery!

We will be opening our ‘new’ infant and walker nurseries in the ‘old’ King’s Way Elementary School office in September. In order to fully stock our new nurseries with new toys and some equipment, we have registered at Target and Babies R Us. Find our registries by searching by mothers’ name “First Church.” We appreciate your generous donations!

Would You Like a Monthly Ministry to Senior Adults?

We are looking for someone to make coffee for the J.O.Y. Fellowship luncheon on the third Tuesday of each month. It would involve a few hours of your time - making coffee in the church cafeteria, taking it over to the CLC cafeteria for their noon meal, and then cleaning up after the event. Training and all of the supplies will be provided. Many of our senior adults are no longer able to lift the big coffee urns. This would be a great service to them. Study of Jesus’ Parables

Jesus told stories with a context readily understandable by his audience - but our understanding of them is many times similar to hearing a joke when we don’t get the punch line. Join a new study of his parables and the metaphors about God’s rule on earth in the person of Christ. Exploring first century context will help illuminate Jesus’ point and challenge you to align your values with his. Connection Point is an Adult Bible Fellowship class that is open to all adults and meets Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM in the Fireside Room.

Prayer Room Open Sunday Mornings

Our Prayer Room, located downstairs just inside the West entrance, is staffed on Sunday mornings from 10:30 - 11:30 AM with trained teams to pray with you for all your prayer needs.
