Prayer Ministry

Our purpose is to encourage. Prayer is something that everyone can do and is commanded to do. The purpose of prayer is to bring results, James 5:16b states that the Ernest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results. If we truly want to honor our Lord and Savior, we must be a praying Church; That is our mission, goal and purpose.
The prayer ministry has one mission: To bring emphasis to prayer, both individually and as the body of Christ. Prayer is the life blood of the Church. If we are not a praying Church, then we are not a Church at all. Romans 12:2 states this goal:
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Renewing of the mind begins with prayer. It is the only way we can truly know what God's will is, otherwise it is only our own vision and purpose, which falls short of God's intention.
Altar Ministry:
During the Sunday morning services, trained altar workers pray with those that come to the altars with prayer needs. Training sessions are scheduled periodically for those who would like to join this ministry.
A Prayer and Fasting Calendar is set up to cover the needs of the church. Those committed to this are sent their assignment by mail each month.
Prayer Room Activities:
- The prayer room is set up with stations around the room to guide you in worship, and to intercede for our church and the community.
- This is a good place to gather and pray.
- There are scheduled pray-ers before, during, and between each Sunday service. Bring your need here and someone will pray with you.
- There is a check-out library of books and audio tapes on prayer in the room.
Periodically we have classes and seminars on prayer that instruct and encourage us to grow in our relationship with God and in our
prayer life.
There are three ways to have your requests prayed for:
- E-Mail (knee-mail as we call it), If you'd like to anonymously send a request please use the Prayer Line.
- Call the church office at 360.574.1611 and have your request put on the prayer chain.
- Write your prayer request on the Sunday morning attendance card which you will find in the worship guide. Your request will be entered on a prayer sheet that comes out at the Wednesday evening worship service. People take these requests seriously and pray for them all week long.
For Men's Ministries prayer group schedules please call Jerry Goodman.
For Women's Ministries prayer group schedules call Alice Gronas.
If you would like to become involved in any of these activities, please sign up in the prayer room near the east entrance and someone will contact you, or you may call the church office.
