The Giving Closet

The Giving Closet opened its doors back in 1999.  It was located in the church attic.  It has since passed through the house on the hill and has landed in Mountain View Plaza near Fourth Plain in Vancouver.  Since opening the doors in the new location in September of 2004 over 4,800 people have been served!  What an awesome ministry this has become due to the generosity of our congregation!

We are always looking for fresh volunteers to join our volunteer team.  There are many ways to help here at The Giving Closet.  Here are a few areas that can use your touch:

• PRAY!  Pray for Salvation to permeate our community.  Pray for the volunteers who give their time each week.  Pray for all of us as we minister to those who are so easily forgotten.  Pray for God's Hand to be on us and for His Will to be accomplished!
• Donate all your used clothing to us during hours of operation.  We can also use small household items, linens, children's toys and books, and Bibles.
• Come and work while we are open to the community.  This involves sorting clothes, hanging up items, working with children, and cheerfully interacting with our community.  Call Kim Mott @ 574.1611 ext.6903 to get on our schedule.  We would love to have you!

• Wednesday & Thursday 1-5 p.m., Shopping times according to last name. A-L 1:00-2:00 pm, J-Q 2:30-3:30 pm, R-Z 4:00-5:00 pm

Donations accepted at the following locations:

• Wednesday or Thursday from 11 AM-5PM at The Giving Closet.  We are closed the week of a holiday.

  • Nov 21 & 22
  • Dec 19 & 20 & 26 & 27
• Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM.  Drop your donations in the donation boxes located in the lobby at the Church.
• 24 hour Drop.  Drop your items in the green drop box located in the church parking lot.
  

If you have large furniture items please contact Jen Choate @ 993-4800.  We will display a description of your item at our check in table at The Giving Closet.  If someone is interested we will give them your contact information and they will be responsible to get in touch with you and make arrangements to get the item from you.  Please leave a message if you do not call during business hours.  Your call will be returned on either Wednesday or Thursday during our hours of operation.
