Community Support

Here at the First Church of God, we are committed to serving our community through various arms of ministry run by members of our congregation.  You do not need to travel the globe for a chance to serve others.  There are many opportunities right in Vancouver to touch lives for the Lord. 

The Giving Closet provides free clothing to those in need in our community.  It operates on donations given from within the community with the majority coming through our congregation. If you are not already involved in this ministry we encourage you to join us in putting God’s love into action.

Loving Hands Ministry supplies food for those in need from our congregation and our community. At Thanksgiving and Christmas volunteers buy groceries for Holiday Food Baskets which they deliver to families lacking in resources.

Angel Tree makes Christmas wishes come true for children of the Vancouver School District with one wish gift and one need gift.

Homeless Ministry on Burnside distributes sack lunches donated by our congregation along with socks, hats, gloves, toiletries, coats, blankets, and coffee to the homeless living on Burnside. 

Jesus admonishes us, “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me… inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these of My brethren, you did it to me.” 

“As each one has received a gift, minister to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
