Join a study of Genesis for women, Wednesday mornings 9 - 11 AM in room 120. A breakout into smaller discussion groups allows time for processing ideas and sharing insights. It’s an atmosphere where new friendships begin. Don’t be shy - plan to attend and bring a friend. Study guides will be available in Café Connection for $6.50.

2 people to work our “clean-up” shift from 10:30 - 11:30 AM the 2nd Sunday of each month. One person who can come in on Monday mornings to clean and re-stock Café Connection, and one person who can come in on Fridays to clean and stock Café Connection for the weekend. We will be opening our ‘new’ infant and walker nurseries in the ‘old’ King’s Way Elementary School office in September. In order to fully stock our new nurseries with new toys and some equipment, we have registered at Target and Babies R Us. Find our registries by searching by mothers’ name “First Church.” We appreciate your generous donations!

Sunday, August 29 we are having a little family carnival in room 221 between Sunday morning services (10:30-11:05 AM). There will be fun games and of course a few lessons along the way. So, be sure to come upstairs and join the fun!

If you are interested in being baptized at our next service on August 29, please call Kim Mott in the church office, 360.816.6903, and plan to attend an informational and instructional class, taught by Pastor Denise Currie, on Wednesday, August 25 at 6:30 PM in the fireside room.

The next few Thursday morning workdays are important! We’ll be working on a variety of projects to get ready for school to start. Call Steve Olson, 360.816.6900, for more information.

We are looking for someone to make coffee for the J.O.Y. Fellowship luncheon on the third Tuesday of each month. It would involve a few hours of your time - making coffee in the church cafeteria, taking it over to the CLC cafeteria for their noon meal, and then cleaning up after the event. Training and all of the supplies will be provided. Many of our senior adults are no longer able to lift the big coffee urns. This would be a great service to them. Save the date! We’re having a couple’s seminar, Celebrating Marriage: Love, War and More, for all married and engaged couples in the Student Ministries room from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunch will be included.
